1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and BookForge Studio ("we", "us"), the operator of BookForge Studio at https://bookforgestudio.store/ (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, buying from the store or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. The Service
BookForge Studio is an online toolkit for self-publishers. Depending on your plan, it includes:
- Book builders for activity and puzzle books and for color-by-number books, with solutions, covers and print-ready exports (PDF, PNG and ZIP)
- The Publishing Studio (Pro): book profiles, a listing SEO studio and an A+ Content designer
- AI assistance: prompts you can copy into an AI tool of your choice, and, where enabled, built-in AI suggestions
- A store selling digital products such as e-books, printables and templates
- A blog with guides and articles
The Service helps you prepare files and listing text. It doesn't publish anything on Amazon or any other platform for you, and we can't promise that a book or listing will be accepted by Amazon KDP or anyone else. BookForge Studio isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.
3. Your account
3.1 Creating an account
Some features need an account. You agree to give accurate information and keep it up to date, keep your password private, tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account, and accept responsibility for what happens under your account.
3.2 Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they accept these Terms on your behalf. Paid plans and store purchases are for people who can enter a binding contract where they live.
3.3 One free account per person
Each person may have only one free account. Opening extra accounts to get around free-plan limits or monthly export allowances isn't allowed. We may use signals such as IP addresses, sign-up patterns and payment details to spot duplicate accounts. If we find accounts run by the same person to get around limits, we may suspend or close them, remove allowances or benefits gained through them, and refuse new sign-ups. Separate paid accounts kept for a real business reason (for example a personal and a company account), each with its own subscription, are fine.
4. Your content and ours
4.1 What you own
You keep all rights in what you create with the Service: your manuscripts, puzzles, images, book profiles, listing text, A+ designs and the files you export. You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to anything you upload or include.
4.2 Permission you give us
So that we can run the Service, you give us a limited permission to store your content, show it back to you, process it to provide features (including AI features you choose to use), and keep backups. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups that are deleted on their normal schedule. We don't sell your content, share it for others' marketing, or use it to train AI models.
4.3 Our content
The Service itself, its design and code, our blog articles and the products in our store belong to us or our licensors. Apart from what these Terms or a product's licence allow, you may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights
- create or distribute content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, violent, deceptive or that sexualises minors in any way
- publish books or listings designed to mislead buyers, such as false claims, fake reviews or copies of other people's work
- spread malware, probe or break our security, or get into accounts or systems you're not allowed to
- scrape, crawl or bulk-copy the Service, the blog or the store, or use automated tools without our written permission
- use the Service or its output to build or train a competing product or AI model
- resell, share or sublicense your account, or access to paid features, to others
- impersonate someone, send spam, or abuse, threaten or harass our staff or other users
We may look into suspected misuse, remove content, suspend or close accounts, and report illegal activity to the authorities.
6. Store purchases
6.1 What you're buying
Store products are digital files, such as PDF or EPUB e-books, printables and templates. Each product page describes the format and contents. Unless the product page says otherwise, your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to download and use the product for your own use. You may not resell, share, upload or redistribute it, or claim it as your own work. If a product page includes a commercial-use licence, that licence applies to that product instead.
6.2 Delivery
You need a free account to buy. Once PayPal confirms the payment, the product appears in My library, where you can download it. Each order includes a set number of downloads (shown in your library) and download links expire after a short time for security. Keep your own copy: if a product is withdrawn from sale, we'll try to keep it available to past buyers, but we can't promise to do so forever.
6.3 Prices
Store prices are in US dollars, and the price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Depending on where you live, taxes may apply. Your bank or PayPal may charge currency conversion fees.
7. Subscriptions and payments
7.1 Free plan
The free plan has limited features and a small monthly export allowance. We may change free-plan limits at any time.
7.2 Paid plans
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly, whichever you choose at checkout.
- Your plan renews automatically for another period of the same length at the same price, and PayPal charges your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time before your next renewal date to avoid the next charge (see 7.4).
- Payments are processed by PayPal. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
- All prices are in US dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise.
- Paid features start once PayPal confirms your subscription is active.
- We'll tell you about any price change at least 30 days in advance by email. The new price applies from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before it does.
7.3 Refunds
Subscription payments, including renewals, aren't refundable, and we don't refund partly used billing periods or unused export credits. Store purchases can be refunded as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have by law. Where the law requires a refund, we'll give one. For example, consumers in the UK and the European Union may be able to cancel within 14 days of an online purchase, except for digital content they asked to receive straight away and acknowledged that this ends the right to cancel. You may have other rights where you live that these Terms don't limit.
We may, at our discretion, give a goodwill refund, for example if a long outage stopped you using the Service. Doing so once doesn't oblige us to do it again. If you think you were charged by mistake, contact us at support@bookforgestudio.store and we'll look into it.
7.4 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, free of charge, on the Billing page, in PayPal under your automatic payments, or by emailing support@bookforgestudio.store. Cancelling stops all future renewal payments. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, and nothing more is charged after that.
7.5 Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before opening a PayPal dispute or a chargeback with your bank, so we can try to fix the problem quickly. While a dispute is open, we may pause the account involved. If a chargeback is filed for a payment that was valid, we may recover the amount and any fees we were charged.
8. Availability
We work to keep the Service running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or suitable for your specific needs. We may need to pause it for maintenance or emergencies, and we may change or remove features. Projects in the book builders are saved in your browser and in the files you export, so keep your own backups.
9. Ending your use of the Service
9.1 By you
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Account settings. Cancel any subscription first.
9.2 By us
We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, act fraudulently, misuse the Service or harm other users, or don't pay what you owe. Where possible we'll tell you why. If we close an account because these Terms were broken, fees already paid aren't refunded, unless the law requires it or we decide otherwise.
10. No warranties
To the extent the law allows, the Service, the store products and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or (b) US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us and our affiliates for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your use of the Service, the content you create or publish, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY / STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protection given by the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
15. Resolving disputes
If a dispute arises, we'll first try to settle it together in good faith; please contact us at support@bookforgestudio.store. If that doesn't work within 30 days, either of us may suggest mediation. If mediation fails, the dispute will be decided by binding arbitration, or by the courts where the law gives you the right to go to court.
16. AI-generated content
Text and suggestions produced with AI, whether by a built-in feature or by an AI tool you paste our prompts into, are created automatically. They:
- may contain mistakes, out-of-date information or made-up details
- are not legal, medical, financial, tax or any other professional advice
- must be checked by you before you publish or rely on them
- may accidentally resemble existing works, so it's up to you to make sure what you publish doesn't infringe anyone's rights
We make no promises about the accuracy, originality or suitability of AI output. You're the publisher of anything you export or distribute, and you're responsible for it.
17. Third-party services
The Service relies on other companies, including:
- PayPal, for payments and subscriptions
- our hosting provider, for servers, storage and email
- Google Fonts, for some typefaces in the builders
- AI model providers, where built-in AI features are switched on
Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. We aren't responsible for their availability or actions. If a provider changes or stops a service, we'll try to find an alternative, but we aren't liable for the disruption.
18. Exporting your data
You can export your work at any time: books as PDF, PNG, ZIP and JSON project files, and Studio content through its export tools. Your account data can be downloaded from Account settings. When you delete your account, we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy, keeping only the payment records the law requires.
19. Events outside our control
We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. These include natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, government action, power, internet or telecom failures, cyberattacks, and outages at the providers listed in section 17.
20. Severability
If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, that part will be limited as little as possible, and the rest of the Terms stay in force.
